Instructions For Dr. Anderson’s
Cataract Surgery Patients
After Surgery

Continue to Use ALL of the following medications as directed:

1. OCUFLOX
Antibiotic
(Ofloxacine)

4 x per day in operated eye
for 2 weeks,
and then stop



AND

2. PRED-FORTE (OPHTOTATE)
Anti-Inflammatory
(prednisolone acetate)

4 x per day in operated eye for 2 weeks
3 x per day for the next week
2 x per day for the next week
1 x per day for the next week
and then stop



AND

3. VOLTAREN
OPHTHA
Anti-Inflammatory
(diclofenac sodium)

4 x per day in operated eye for
2 weeks
,
and then stop
    

Be sure to wait 3 minutes between the instillation of each drop so as not wash the first dropout with the second drop.

Just before bed, apply shield (point towards nose) with scotch tape or paper tape for 1week.The shield is to keep your hands out of your eyes while you are sleeping.

Additional Instructions (if any):

If you experience any of the following symptoms please contact Dr. Anderson:

     • severe pain

     • feel sick or vomit

     • notice your vision worsening instead of improving from day to day

     • see flashes of light or a dramatically increased number of "floaters"
       (the black specks that sometimes appear in your field of vision)

     • have redness that doesn't go away with the eye drops that you were given
