Surgical Daycare Instructions
For Dr. Anderson’s Cataract Patients
Before the Day of Surgery at
Langley Memorial Hospital

YOUR SURGERY DATE IS: ____________________________________
Langley Memorial Hospital will call you with the time to check in for surgery.

If you are having the soft foldable lens, please bring payment
  (Cash or Cheque) with you to your follow-up appointment with Dr. Anderson.

• On ________________________ start using the Vigamox drops (antibiotic)
  also known as
moxifloxacin hydrochloride.
  Use one drop in both eyes four times a day  until surgery.


• On ________________________ start using the Voltaren Ophtha
  (anti-inflammatory) also known as diclofenac sodium.
   Use one drop in the _____________ eye four times a day until surgery.


• On ________________________ start using the Pred-Forte
  (anti-inflammatory) also known as prednisolone acetate. Use one drop in
   the _____________ eye at supper and bedtime the night before surgery.


• Please leave 5 minutes between the application of these drops.

We ask you to see your family doctor for a routine pre-operative check-up.

If you have chosen the hard regular lens and are taking Aspirin or blood thinning medications, please check with your family doctor as to the need to STOP these medications seven days prior to your surgery.

You may have a regular breakfast and take all your regular medications unless otherwise instructed by Dr. Anderson or your family doctor.

Dr. Anderson will see you in the office for your post-operative check-ups on:

after you are discharged from the hospital.
